Here's what it should be - With a new caravan everything should be in perfect working order, everything finished off properly, right!!!! WRONG. Before we even took possession of the van the toilet had been replaced because of a faulty seal!!!! We left Tiaro on February 10th going via Woodgate to mow the lawn of our shed and vacant blocks we still own there. Then on to Bundaberg shopping and cuppa with Chris and Jenny (making them jealous because they would like to join us nomading!!!!) We will meet you on the road one of these days C and J!!! Stayed the night at Ban Ban Springs in the free camp then headed to Chinchilla to Ray and Carol's for 2 nights (getting into trouble because we took sssoooo long to get from Ban Ban to Chinchilla - when you're nomading what's the hurry!!!). On to Pittsworth to Ian and Lyndal's, via my Dad and Mum's for cuppa. Then home to Tiaro on Tues 15th Feb. Along the way things in the van didn't all perform as they should have. The air-con was useless, the smart fridge was dumb (don't think it made it past pre-school!!), the kitchen drawer spent the last 3 days of the trip in the back of the car as the lock fell off and some other little things that hadn't been done properly or finished off properly caused hassles.

After we arrived home we took the van back to the manufacturer to get things fixed then had to take it back to the supplier of the air-con to have a new one fitted and the fridge checked. It was 9 days of frustration and waiting to have everything fixed, meanwhile as they fixed one thing they wrecked another then had to fix that too. Eventually most of the things were fixed as well as they ever would be unless we did the fixing ourselves. So we took the van home to Tiaro.
It wasn't all bad as the caravan does have some really good things we like about it - it tows beautifully, the white walls, no curtains, the comfy queen bed, the large shower, the tri-fold table. |

Good to hear about the positives...as for the negatives...part of the adventure of traveling includes dealing with things that go wrong! :) Hope it's all going smoothly now! xo
ReplyDeleteDealing with things that go wrong along the way is fine but these problems were all there from the manufacturer - their Quality Assurance obviously isn't working.
