'The Hunt Is On'

As we travelled further into the wildflower country people and guide books kept mentioning the Wreath Flower. I was really looking forward to seeing some in real life as they looked amazing.   The books said they were growing around the Mullewa area so we intended to head that direction from Geraldton.  Talking to the guy in the tourist info centre in Geraldton we were told that the Wreath Flowers were all but finished at Mullewa but if we headed to the Wubin area they were still okay there as it was a little cooler than further north. So from Geraldton we headed inland on a mission to find the 'Wreath Flowers',  travelling through Mingenew, Morawa and down to Wubin.  We called into the tourist info centre in Wubin and were told just where to find the Wreath Flowers 20km out of town.   She also told us to continue on the same road and do a circle tour of the district, going past the Cailbro Mudbrick School building then back into Wubin.   So we spent an enjoyable morning driving, finding and taking photos of Wreath flowers, visiting the Cailbro School and back into Wubin by lunch time then continuing on our way through Dalwallinu and Miling until we found a place to stop for the night down a side road near Moora.
The Wreath Flower (Leschenaultia macrantha) is found nowhere else in the world.  The main  areas of them are around Perenjori, Mullerwa and Wubin in the wheatbelt of W.A.  (So you can see why they were something that I was very keen to view.   People come from all over the world to view them here)!!

Cailbro School

Open from 1939 to 1956.  The Cail brothers received permission to build the school for their children as it was too far to send them to another school.

I spent a long time just walking up and down taking photos of these gardens while David filled the caravan tanks with water at the park across the road
